QLD Rural Real Estate Agent Phillip Kelly elected to key industry committees

Elders congratulates Queensland-based rural agent Phillip Kelly on his election to two highly regarded industry committees – the AgForce Advisory Committee – Land Use Protection and the Rural Press Club Queensland.

These appointments are an acknowledgement of Phillip’s knowledge, experience, and commitment to the rural sector. They also highlight the value of having industry professionals like Phillip actively involved in the conversations that shape the future of agriculture and regional communities across Queensland. Elders is proud to see his contribution recognised in this way.

The AgForce Advisory Committee – Land Use Protection plays a central role in addressing one of the most important challenges facing Queensland’s rural industries:

balancing the growth of renewable energy with the protection of landholder rights and agricultural production.

Solar and wind projects are expanding rapidly across the state. For many producers, this brings both opportunities and challenges. The Committee provides informed input on how best to manage these developments, ensuring that landholders are treated fairly, obligations are clear, and agricultural land remains productive for the long term.

Phillip’s appointment to this committee reflects his understanding of these issues and his ability to bring practical insights into policy discussions. By participating, he will help ensure that agriculture’s perspective is represented in debates about land use, sustainability, and the coexistence of industries.

Alongside his work with AgForce Advisory Committee – Land Use Protection, Phillip has also been elected to the Rural Press Club Queensland. Established in 1972, the Club has become a trusted forum for highlighting rural and regional issues to both industry and the broader public.

The Rural Press Club hosts regular events, including monthly lunches in Brisbane featuring guest speakers and panels. These events provide an opportunity to celebrate success stories from across Queensland, but also to discuss more difficult topics that impact rural communities. Importantly, the Club helps ensure that the challenges, achievements, and opportunities in agriculture are visible to government, media, and the general public.

Phillip’s involvement will see him contribute to this important platform, helping to ensure that the perspectives of rural and regional Queensland continue to be heard and understood.

Phillip’s election to both committees is a testament to the high regard in which he is held by peers across the rural sector. His knowledge of land use, agriculture, and community engagement makes him well placed to contribute constructively to these forums.

While the roles are distinct from his position with Elders, Phillip has noted that he will carry knowledge and experience between his committee work and his professional life. This two-way exchange benefits not only the committees he serves on but also his clients and colleagues, who can draw from the insights he gains through these wider industry discussions.

The issues facing rural and regional Queensland continue to evolve, from renewable energy projects and resource development through to changing consumer expectations, environmental challenges, and opportunities for growth. Having strong, informed voices in the right forums is critical for ensuring the agricultural industry remains resilient and sustainable.

Phillip’s appointments to the AgForce Advisory Committee – Land Use Protection and the Rural Press Club Queensland are timely and important. They reflect his commitment to the sector and his determination to see landholders’ interests safeguarded while also promoting the many positive stories that come out of rural communities.

Elders congratulates Phillip on this recognition of his leadership and looks forward to seeing the valuable contributions he will make in the years ahead.
